Centipede Bracelet
I love this bracelet, it is so elegant and yet it can be worn with virtually anything and it is so simple to make.
It is constructed using just jump rings and small silver beads and can be finished with a simple lobster clasp or a box clasp, if you want to make it a little more special.
The chain can be made to any length, so it is easy to personalise it to the wearer or make bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
Try using coloured jump rings or different coloured beads, the basic pattern is simple, yet the finished design can look so unique.
Happy chainmailling!
Instructions
1. Take two jump rings and add a small silver bead to each.
2. Join the two jump rings with the silver beads together, using two slightly smaller jump rings.
3. Pull the two blank jump rings apart and flip the beaded jump rings over, so that both beads hang vertically.
4. Add another two small jump rings to the blank side of the top beaded jump ring (the beaded jump ring that rests on the top in the picture), then attach a further beaded jump ring to these two blank jump rings.
5. Again, pull the two blank jump rings apart and flip the beaded jump ring over, so that the bead also hangs vertically and matches the others.
6. Continue instructions 4 and 5 until the chain is the required length.
7. Finish the chain by attaching a large jump ring to each end of the chain. Attach a lobster clasp to one end and an extended chain of double jump rings to the other (as shown in the first picture). Finish the extended chain by attaching a silver bead.
Enjoy your new piece of jewellery and wear with pride!
Opening a Jump Ring
Always open a jump ring by holding the sides securely with pliers and twisting it open - NEVER PULL APART. This will ensure that you can close the jump ring by twisting it back and still keep the original shape.
